Transportation Day!

Today was Transportation Day at Hazel's school. All the 3K students brought their "transportation" and they had a morning of moving fun. Hazel of course wanted to take her new scooter and there was three other friends in her class with the same scooter.

All this month, Hazel has been learning about different types of transportation like airplanes, boats, trains, cars, buses, bikes, etc. They even had "Thomas the Train" come and take them for a ride. It was so much fun!

And they're off..............

There was a corner called "bike bath" - This is Hazel cleaning off her scooter

The whole class on the train. Mrs. Prosser did such a great job being the conductor.

Hazel & Olivia cheer because Mrs. Prosser finally got the "train" (an old lawnmower) to finally crank up.

Happy Easter!

I hope all of you friends and family had a great Easter. We sure did- it all started at about 6:30 this morning when Hazel discovered that the Easter Bunny had come and left her (and Eliza) some goodies. After that, we all got ready and went to church to celebrate our risen Lord!

We went over to Nana & Papa's for lunch and it was delicious. It was great to see Uncle Jimmy. Hazel also had to show off her scooter that the Easter Bunny brought to her. All of us watched the movie Enchanted, which was another gift Hazel got. Nana & Papa gave us even more goodies and now, we have a total of 4 chocolate bunnies! Well, I think we now have 2 because Hazel and I ate one each today. I'll be so glad when all this candy gets out of my house!

Family Picnic & One more egg hunt

On Saturday, we had a picnic/egg hunt with Nana, Papa, Joey, Chery and Lucy at the Methodist Manor nursing home. I think this is seriously like the 5th egg hunt that we have done, but Daddy missed all the others, so we had another one so Steve could join in on the fun. We let the girls hunt for eggs and then we enjoyed an awesome picnic lunch of colorful egg salad sandwiches (from our colored eggs on Friday), fruit, chips, and cookies and cupcakes. Hazel and Lucy also had fun playing games and jumping in the bounce house.

Are there any eggs in these bushes?

I wonder if there's any candy in here

Time to eat!

Yes, we're dressed alike once again!

Coloring Eggs

On Friday, Lucy and Cheryl came over with their boiled eggs and we had an egg coloring party. We had every color in the rainbow along with stickers, glitter and paint. They were so proud of their creations and they did such a great job-and 48 eggs and a big mess later, all the eggs were done.
Now I'm just trying to decide what in the world I'm going to do with 2 dozen boiled eggs-I guess we'll be eating egg salad sandwiches all this week for lunch.

Lucy, let's dye this one pink!

Sitting up and other new things

Eliza is now 5 1/2 months old and she has been sitting up now really well for about a week. Today was such a pretty day, so I took her outside to learn about some news things such as grass, sunshine and wind. She really enjoyed being outside and the breeze felt so good. Here are a few pictures of her playing in the grass. She even tasted a little of it. Oh, did I mention...she has a tooth on the bottom that has popped through. Yay.

Sing Hosanna to the King of Kings

Today at Hazel's preschool, the kids paraded into the parking lot wearing their homemade easter "bonnets" and waving palm branches and singing Hosanna to the King of Kings. It was so precious. Hazel and I worked hard on her bunny ears to wear in the parade and she worked very hard learning the two songs they sang. Afterwards, the kids had a special treat of cookies and milk.

(Hazel is 6th in line marching out)

It makes you so humbled when you hear your 4 year old talking and singing about the real reason for Easter. One verse from one of the songs they sang was:

You paid the price
You sacrificed
For me...For me
Now the least that I can do
Is live my life for you
(Hazel is the 4th from the left in the picture above)

Hazel shows off her bunny ears that she and I made. They were a little heavy and she really didn't want to put them back on for me to take this picture

Up in the tree

Hazel has been very interested lately in climbing trees. She always wants me to let her climb the Bradford Pear trees in out front yard, but I always tell her to wait until Daddy is home. Well, Saturday she got to climb the tree. Now everytime she goes outside, she heads straight for the trees. I don't think she has a fear of heights.

Goin' on an Egg Hunt

Saturday afternoon we had a egg hunt with our Sunday School class. Hazel has been very excited about this egg hunt all week and finally it was here (and so was the wind) Despite the cold weather, all the kids had a blast. Hazel found 16 eggs and all of them were filled with candy! She also had a fun time dressing up in one of Caitlyn's princess dresses with all of her friends.

Look Mom, I found another egg!

I don't see anymore eggs

Thanks Ray & Katie for having us over. You are very generous to have all of us at your house

Cinderella Brunch

This morning Hazel, Eliza & I met some friends at St. Luke Lutheran Church for a brunch with the cast of the upcoming ballet "Cinderella." The girls had a great time and they loved seeing the ballerinas. Hazel wants me to take her this weekend to see the actual ballet.
