Madeline's "pretend" slumber party

Hazel's friend, Madeline, had a "pretend" slumber party for her 5th birthday. All the girls (and Mom's) came dressed in their PJ's and had a blast! Missy did an awesome job planning this party. The girls did each other's makeup, played pass the slipper game, ate pizza and cake- a precious cake! They also decorated heart cookies- it was Valentine's Day after all. It was such a great time! The goodie bags were also a hit. Missy had them packed with "morning after" things such as: little bottles of orange juice, cereal, toothbrush, etc. Such a cute idea!

Father/Daughter Dance 2009

Tonight was our church's annual Father/Daughter dance. Hazel and I went last week and I let her pick out her own dress- so don't think I lost my mind. The dress is not my favorite, but she thought it was beautiful. We rolled her hair because she wanted it curly like Anna Grace's, and oh was it ever curly, kinda like Bozo the clown curly, but it worked. I put some makeup on her and she was in a hurry to go next door and see if Lucy was ready. The two girls were so excited!!! I was able to get a few pictures of them before the dance, but no Mommies were allowed at the dance, so this was all I got.

All ready for date night!

Hazel said she had a wonderful time at the dance with her Daddy and afterwards they went on a triple date with Mr. Joey and Lucy and Mr. Ken and Kennedy to Indigo Joe's- a sports bar!!! Leave it to Daddies to take their favorite little girls to do their favorite things. But, the girls thought it was great because they got to play video games!

Roller Skating

Hazel's friend, Bella, had a skating party for her birthday and Hazel was excited, because this was her first time roller skating. We have been ice skating a couple of times, but never roller skating. I used go roller skating all the time as a kid and I was just as excited as she was. When she first got out on the ring she was a little unsteady, but after a couple....well, LOTS of falling, she got the hang of it. Hazel, Caitlyn and Anna Grace even persuaded the adults to get on skates. Oh the memories! The music was a little different, but still the cheesy holding hands skate, backwards skate, and who can forget the Hokey Pokey. We had such a great time and Hazel wants to go back soon. This happened many times!

Snaggle-Tooth

We had a milestone last week that totally caught me by surprise. I noticed that Hazel's smile looked a little funny and I asked her to come to me and I felt one of her bottom teeth was loose-VERY loose. I started freaking out!!! I bombarded her with questions about if she got hit in the mouth or fell and hit her head. After all, children don't lose teeth until like first grade, right? Wrong!!! Apparently children can start losing teeth as young as four and the dentist told me that 5 was the perfect age. Whew!!! Well, I sent her to school the next morning. I had a pretty good idea that when I picked her up at noon that my baby's first tooth would be gone! I was right. She was SO EXCITED!!! Most of all, because the tooth fairy would come visit! She said Pastor Ray pulled the tooth right before she went to Spanish and it didn't even hurt one bit. What? I didn't get to pull her first tooth? After some crying and Hazel calming me down, I explained to her that I didn't want her to grow up and I was sad that she was growing up too fast. SHE TOLD ME TO GET OVER IT!

Going to bed with the tooth under her pillow!

Sound asleep....I think the tooth fairy comes about....NOW!

Moma, look what the tooth fairy left....a note and $5.00!!!The tooth fairy tells Hazel to take good care of her teeth

As I write this post I'm thinking of my dear sweet Hazel and how she wants to "grow up" so fast, and I'm trying to find ways to stop it!! Oh, by the way she has already lost another tooth- the one right beside it. Someone help me!!!!
