Strawberry Pickin'

Friday morning Hazel's class went on a field trip to Triple R Farms to pick strawberries. I was so excited because this is one of my favorite memories I have- picking strawberries in the spring with my Moma and Grandma Georgia-Anne. Hazel liked picking the strawberries, but she didn't like eating them. She said that she would rather go pick bananas! The children had such a great time and some of them had very messy faces from eating as many strawberries as they picked!

Hazel & Madeline look for the bright red ones!

Everyone is busy picking

Moma, does this one look good?

Happy Birthday Big Pa!

Today is Big Pa's birthday and we (the WHOLE side of my family) had a surprise party for him at Miyami Japanese Steakhouse on Sunday. Hazel loves to watch the men cook on the hibachi grill and her favorite is the white shrimp sauce- she puts it on everything! Big Pa was surprised and we all had a great dinner in the private dining room. Big Pa- We love you! Happy 61st Birthday!

Surprise!!!!!!!!

T-Ball

Well, Hazel has started another new activity....T-ball at the YMCA. Tonight was her first practice and she really did pretty well. There are 3 girls and 5 boys on her team. Her favorite part was playing first base when everyone was throwing her all the balls, even though she didn't catch any. She did a great job batting off the tee and running the bases. I hope she is going to like it.

Hazel waits for the ball to come to her

Hazel hits the ball. HARD!

....and runs to third base

Her coach gives her some pointers on how to hit the ball harder.

Blog Break

Sorry it has been almost 2 weeks since I last posted, but I have been so busy. Our days and nights have been insane. We have dance and Bible Study on Mondays, gymnastics and T-Ball on Tuesdays, Church (when we get there) on Wednesdays, playgroup on Thursdays and T-Ball again on Fridays......I know I'm crazy for scheduling all this stuff- but on top of it all, I decided it was time to GET THIS BABY WEIGHT OFF. I committed myself to a strict diet and exercise (1.5-2 hours a day) routine. Since the first of the month I have lost about 12 LBS!!! I am SOOOO motivated and will not stop until I reach my goal.....only 18 more lbs to go! Hopefully it will come off as fast as the first 12.

Johnny Jump-Up

I found in out attic an item that my parents used with me when I was a baby- the original Johnny Jump-Up. Looking at the pictures, you can tell this thing is at least 30 years old, but Hazel loved it and now Eliza LOVES it too. She loves jumping and when she is in this and one of us say to her- "Jump, Jump, Jump," she goes nuts jumping- it is so funny. She also likes to scream in this hugh pitched voice while she is doing it. Here are some pictures of her in Johnny Jump-up.

6 month checkup/Torticollis Update

On Monday, Eliza had her 6 month checkup with Dr. Bardi. Last month, he diagnosed Eliza with Torticollis, which is where her head tilts to one side, in her case it is the right side. You may have noticed from previous pictures. This was more than likely caused by her head being so compacted in utero and the muscle grew that way, but with some physical therapy, it should be normal in about 3-4 months.

Other than that, Eliza is such a healthy baby. She is growing so fast. She can roll over both ways, sit up, can eat lots of different things now, LOVES to "talk" and even has two teeth!

Here are the stats:

Weight: 17 lbs 9oz.

Height: 26 1/2"

Here is a picture of her two teeth- they are so cute!

And here is a video of her talking, I love having "conversations" with her
