Snow Tubing

Hazel has been very disappointed that she has not seen any snow, so while we were in Hendersonville this past weekend, we went to a place called Moonshine Mountain and went snow tubing. This place had some BIG slopes with lots of "fake" snow, but we still had a great time. I can't believe Hazel wasn't scared, because I kinda was. The best part was that it was about 65 degrees outside that day, so no one had to wear heavy jackets, there was even some people in short sleeves!

Hazel all suited up to go tubing, no heavy jacket needed today

Get up Aunt Rebecca, we've got tubin' to do!

Gabe and Steve enjoy the ride up the slope

Gabe, are you sure you want to go on the tube by yourself? Look how fast the tube goes down.

Hazel takes a break and plays putt-putt with Nana

Family Visit

This past weekend we went to Hendersonville to see Great Grandma McNair and Aunt Rebecca, Uncle Mike and Gabriel. We arrived at the McNair's at about 7:00 or so Friday night and Hazel and Gabe immediately hit it off. They are a couple of years apart in age (Gabe will be 6 in May). They had such a blast playing with their presents from Jaimie (Nana). Gabe showed Hazel his school room (he is homeschooled) and his art room. It was a very late night for the two little ones. Here is a picture of Aunt Rebecca reading the book Little Women to Gabe and Hazel. Thanks for the book Aunt Rebecca!

The next morning, Hazel and Gabe decided that the house was just too quiet. Here are some pictures of Gabe showing Hazel his musical instruments.

......and Hazel decided that she wanted to paint.....but I'm not sure if she got any on the paper.

Here is a picture of Great Grandma holding Eliza. This was the first time meeting each other. Great Grandma, Happy 83rd Birthday! We love you!

Tuesdays with Anna Grace

For the last few Tuesdays, I have been keeping a good friend's (Kayne) daughter, Anna Grace. Anna Grace and Hazel are about the same age (AG will be 4 in April) and they play very well together. AG goes with me to pick Hazel up from school sometimes and then we come home and eat lunch before heading off to gymnastics at 2:30. In the late afternoons, the girls love to dress up, play outside, if it's nice and just be girls. I love to listen to their conversations. They crack me up! Here are a few pictures I have taken of the girls the last few Tuesdays.

Anna Grace, we love having you over at our house on Tuesdays. Thank you for being a good friend. See you Tuesday!

The girls LOVE the trampoline

Hazel shows Anna Grace how to do crunches on the exercise ball

This is my kind of exercise, doing crunches while eating candy! So, Anna Grace is that how you keep your slim figure?

The girls have found the candy bucket again.

Anna Grace draws a picture of herself.

Taking turns on the "tree swing"-this is what they call this swing

Wait Hazel, my socks are getting too dirty. Let me take them off.

Swing me higher, Hazel

Jesus Loves Me!

Sunday morning we had Eliza dedicated at our church, Cornerstone Baptist Church. Our parents joined us and many of our friends were there to see it. Pastor Bill did such a great job and Eliza just sat there quietly and enjoyed looking at all the people. Eliza wore the same dress and bonnet that Nana for Hazel when she was dedicated. After church, we went to Carol's for some good southern cookin' and those sinful blueberry biscuits, yum!

Please pray that Steve and I will raise our girls in the love of Jesus Christ. I want them to see that He is our Savior and he died for us so we can live with Him eternally. If I never teach them another thing-this is the most important.

Thanks to all the friends and family who were there to see our family at this special time. We love all of you guys!

To the Dance with Daddy

Saturday night, Steve took Hazel to the Father-Daughter dance at our church. Hazel was SO excited about the dance all week and on Saturday, she wanted to spend the day getting ready. I rolled her hair, but waited too late in the afternoon for the curls to stay. I wanted to go to the dance so badly and take pictures, but no Mommies were allowed!

Hazel wanted to wear a little bit of makeup to the dance.

Look at those manicured nails!

Daddy and Hazel all dressed up!

Help me into the car, Daddy.

Daddy is happy to take his little girl to the dance.

Hazel and Anna Grace talk about the "fashion of the night"

This is how they came into the door after the dance and dinner. Hazel danced until she dropped!

But, she had to change in her nightgown and show me the things she got at the dance- a corsage and a box of M&M's

Happy Valentine's Day

Today Hazel had a Valentine's Party at school. The kids had such a good time with the sweet treats and chips at 10:30 in the morning! Hazel loved making her Valentine's cards with me and she loved giving them to all her friends. Mrs. Richbourg had them make mail trucks to put all their Valentine cards in. Tomorrow they get to have another party for 100th day of school. Can't wait!

The whole class enjoying their snack

Please stop taking pictures of me eating, Mom!
