Cooking School

Today was Hazel's first day at "cooking school." She is going to weekly classes at Young Chef's Academy and learning how to cook. She is in the Kindercooks class (4-6 year olds). Today they focused on the letter "P" and they made potato soup and pancakes. At first they each peeled a potato with a peeler, then they cut up onions (with goggles on). The instructor cooked the potato soup while they started measuring out ingredients for their pancakes. Hazel was so excited to get to break up an egg. They also made their own syrup for the pancakes. Then it was time to cook the pancakes and that was FUN! Lastly, they got to eat their creations. Hazel did not like the potato soup and neither did any of the other kids. (The moms loved it) The pancakes were a HUGE hit and the syrup too. Hazel can't wait to go back next week.

Hazel cuts up onions with scissors. We didn't want any crying, so they all wore goggles.

Putting the onions in the measuring cup.

Chopping up bananas to put in the pancake mix. Yummy!

Well, Here goes the tasting!

"Mommy, this is really yummy for my tummy!"

That is such a cool thing for kids to do! I hope there is one in Charleston when Henry gets older! Hazel and Eliza are too cute for words!!!
